10 years of service between the Marine Corps and the Washington National Guard. I volunteered for both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The military instilled a call to serve that carries through to this day. I've led small teams all the way up to complicated large-scale operations.

While serving in the Washington National Guard, I was able to finish my degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics with a minor in Environmental Studies. These degrees tie directly into the exact complications of local government and the environmental character of our state.

I grew up in a low-income divorced family. I never once thought I would have a pathway to success because I didn't know what it looked like. My military experience and education taught me to just keep pushing forward. This led me to start 7 different businesses by the time I was 35. I can also owe this success to the Lacey and Thurston County communities, which is a driving factor in me giving back with service.

Running a local government has so much in common with running a local business. The lessons taught here will be of great service to the county. I've learned to balance million-dollar budgets, keep customers (residents) happy, and build a team (staff) with a unified vision.

I've been a sitting Lacey City Councilmember for the past 3 years. I've been a driving force in bringing the council together. I strive to be a bridge between different backgrounds and perspectives. Along with the council, I sit on several committees that directly tie to the work done at the county.
